Mahesh Babu is a producer and actor from India. He is a well-known Telugu film industry media personality. He gained fame thanks to the hugely successful Telugu movies Murari, Athadu, 1: Nenokkadine, Pokiri, Khaleja, Bharat Ane Nenu, Dookudu, Srimanthudu and Okkadu. In addition to four South Indian International Movie Awards, three CineMAA Awards, five Filmfare South Awards, eight Nandi Awards, and an IIFA Utsavam Award, he has also won four Filmfare South Awards. He is regarded as one of the most well-paid Telugu movie actors. He founded the movie production company G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment.
He finished his schooling at St. Bede’s Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai. Later, he graduated from Loyola College in Chennai with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Mahesh Babu was born and raised in Madras. Ramesh Babu, his older brother, used to take care of his academic pursuits since their father was usually away working on his movies. He enjoyed playing cricket with his siblings every day at Madras’s VGP Golden Beach. Mahesh Babu revealed in a different media interview that the Tamil actor Vijay was a friend from college. Soon after graduating, he went to Vishakhapatnam for four months of acting training with Telugu director L. Satyanand. Mahesh Babu had to memorise the dialogues of the films during his early days in the film industry because he couldn’t read or write Telugu.
His father Krishna Ghattamaneni died of a cardiac arrest on November 15, 2022, at a city-based private super-speciality hospital in Hyderabad. On September 28, 2022, in Hyderabad, his mother, Indira Devi, died, she was 70 years old. Ramesh Babu, his older brother, was an actor and producer in Telugu movies. On January 8, 2022, Ramesh Babu passed away in Hyderabad. Padmavathi, Manjula, and Priyadarshini are his three sisters. The older sister of Mahesh Babu, Padmavathi, is wed to Galla Jayadev, a well-known businessman from India and a member of the Telugu Desam Party. His second older sister, Manjula, works in the Telugu film industry as an actress, director, and producer. His younger sister, Priyadarshini, is wed to Sudheer Babu, who started working in Telugu movies after his marriage.
Mahesh Babu had a stepbrother named Naresh who works as an actor in Telugu cinema, and his stepmother was the late Telugu actress and filmmaker Vijaya Nirmala. Mahesh Babu wed Indian actress Namrata Shirodkar at the Marriott Hotel in Mumbai on February 10, 2005. The Telugu movie Athadu was being shot when they got married. The couple has two kids: a son named Gautam Krishna and a daughter named Sitara.
In 1979, when Mahesh Babu was four years old, he and his older brother Ramesh visited the Needa movie’s set. Dasari Narayana Rao, the director of Needa, gave Mahesh the opportunity to play a child artist in his film. During the production of the film Poratam at Vauhini Studios in 1983, Telugu filmmaker Kodi Ramakrishna advised Mahesh Babu’s father to cast Mahesh in the role of the protagonist’s brother. He was eight years old at the time, and at first he was hesitant to participate in the movie. After that, he continued to make appearances in numerous well-known Telugu movies as a young actor, including Sankharavam, Bazaar Rowdy, Mugguru Kodukulu, and Gudachari 117.
Along with Indian actors Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Hrithik Roshan, he was named to the Forever Desirable list. He received the Telugu Best Actor Filmfare Award at the 63rd Filmfare Awards South for the movie Srimanthudu. Mahesh Babu owns ten high-end vehicles, including a BMW, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Range Rover, Lamborghini, Audi A8, Toyota Land Cruiser V8, and Lamborghini. After Prabhas’ Baahubali, he was the second Telugu actor to have a wax statue installed at Madame Tussauds Singapore in 2019. In his seventeen years in the film industry, he is the only Tollywood actor to have received six Nandi awards and four Filmfare awards.
